Marking Guide
30% Creativity – this component evaluates the level of imagination and originality displayed in the artwork. How does the artwork capture and express the artist’s imagination in a unique way?
25% Use of Color – this component evaluates the use of color in the artwork. Does the artist use color in an effective and visually appealing way to enhance the overall impact of the piece?
25% Composition and Balance – this component evaluates the overall design and balance of the artwork. How does the artist arrange the elements in the artwork to create a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing composition?
10% Technical Ability – this component evaluates the artist’s technical ability in using the medium of their choice. This includes factors such as brushwork, handling of materials, and overall craftsmanship.
15% Originality and Uniqueness – this component evaluates how unique and original the artwork is. How does it stand out and differentiate itself from other pieces in the competition?
These criteria are intended to provide guidance for the evaluation process and help ensure that all entries are judged fairly and consistently.


GUIDE FOR EACH GROUP
Group 1: Ages 4-6 – “My Imagination at Play” Expectation: The artworks in this category should be a reflection of the child’s imagination and creativity. The child is encouraged to be playful, use bright colors and express their thoughts freely on the paper. They should focus on the use of colors, imagination, and creativity.
Group 2: Ages 7-9 – “Exploring My World” Expectation: The artworks in this category should focus on the child’s interpretation of their surroundings and the world around them. The child is encouraged to use the themes of nature, their environment, people, and animals as inspiration for their art. They should focus on the use of colors, details, and imagination to bring their artwork to life. Group
3: Ages 10-12 – “Transcending Boundaries” Expectation: The artworks in this category should challenge the child’s imagination and encourage them to think beyond what they already know. The child is encouraged to push the boundaries of their imagination and come up with something unique and innovative. They should focus on the use of colors, details, imagination, and creativity to create an impactful piece of art.
Note: In each group, the children are encouraged to use the materials and rules provided, but they are not limited to it, and are free to use any other material that they believe will enhance their artwork. The aim of the competition is to promote creativity and imagination, and to showcase the talents of the young artists.
